In the latest update of the ATP Men’s World Rankings, Rafael Nadal, the Spanish Clay King maintains his run at the pole position with the Serb Novak Djokovic following behind him at the second spot. Meanwhile in a many years for the first time there are two Swiss Tennis players in the World Top 5, but as a shock we are not talking about Roger Federer it is Stanislas Wawrinka (Stan The Man) as he is called by his fans who is at the third spot and below him is the world famous Swiss Maestro Roger Federer. In the latest update of the rankings there haven’t been much changes in the Top 10. It has mostly been shuffling of the ranks among them.
The Top 10 Rankings with their points stand as:
Rafael Nadal: 12,900
Novak Djokovic: 11,040
Stanislas Wawrinka: 6,375
Roger Federer: 5,805
David Ferrer: 4,850
Tomas Berdych: 4,780
Juan martin Del Potro: 4,215
Andy Murray: 4,040
Milos Raonic: 2,580
John Isner: 2,055
In today’s modern age, NGO’s have numerous ways to reach out to people (you sure must be thinking what NGO’s have to do with Tennis, let me explain). Rafael Nadal the current World No.1 was at one such event which had a tie-up with the Muata Madrid Open. The event not only had the honourable presence of Tennis Players but also well-known players from other sports too like Real Madrid’s Iker Casilas, Football Player Thibaut Courtois, Basket-ball players Sergio Liull and Rudy Fernandez. This Charity event had Singles and Doubles Exhibition Matches.
With News from the Madrid Open Nishikori and Tsonga advance to the second round. Also reports have been coming in with players finding difficulty in adapting to the Clay Court Surface but it surely is not a problem for John Isner who mentioned in an interview at Madrid that he feel ‘’Confident of Playing on Clay’’.
In a great Honour to the Tennis Community which already consists of Legends recently the Spanish Clay King Rafael Nadal was named Honorary Citizen of Madrid.
On Day 3 of the Action packed Madrid Open two of the World Top 5 players Stanislas Wawrinka and David Ferrer opened their accounts at the Clay Courts of the Madrid Open. Wawrinka starts the tournament as Defending Champion.
Till Next Time Game, Set and match.
