SEXUAL PREFERENCES, RELIGIOUS PREFERENCES, CAREER OPTIONS, etc.. I am not wrong to say that MUMBAI has been a bit forward compared to the whole nation in opening its mind about these points since the very beggining. And these days, I'm really proud to say that Mumbai has grown A LOT MORE. The minds of the mumbaikars have widened and yes, our eyes are atlast open!
Let's talk about our mindsets first.. Our minds were closed before and yes, everyone was scared to take a stand for someone or for that matter even for oneself! No one was living without fear even after our independence . But as times have changed, our minds have changed, and this time we are ready to take any actions needed against the wrong, even if it means risking your own life for someone else!
Many stands have been taken by various mumbaikars, via media, one of them being youtube. Kind of the biggest platform for free speech right now right? ;) Many, many teens have started working towards their dreams via Youtube, and many Youtubers from mumbai have been successful in proving that the society is wrong in saying that "Youtube is not a job" because it clearly has become one of the mainstream career options for our youth these days! J (Crispy Burrito being one of them :P)
Many of the channels have shown how Mumbai has changed and how free people have become, from not going out of the house to becoming the CEO of a company, from being shy and reserved to coming out and accepting oneself, from staying quiet and scared to saying it out loud! Yes, mumbai has indeed changed J.. Free speech is seen in various forms today.. BUT.. of course.. our government won't let us have it easily... But this time .. NAH AH.. none of our Mumbaikars kept quiet!
Article 66A was brought down recently, which gives us the liberty to say whatever we want in whichever manner we desire to convey it. And the best part about this is, that our young Mumbaikars had a huge contribution in it! And just like this, there are hundreds of other things that Mumbai has done today, hundreds of things in which Mumbai has taken a stand against without any fear..
But, there are some people in the society holding the youth back because of some rubbish reasons and stamping the names of religion on it and some people are just scared..
But don't.. Do not be scared to raise your voice today.
Our Mumbai is evolving, so let it evolve, in fact be a part of the evolution..
If you think you are being harassed, SAY IT OUT LOUD, Don't scare away..
If you feel that you are gay, COME OUT TO THE WORLD, Don't be ashamed of who you are..
If you know that there is something wrong happening , THEN RAISE YOUR VOICE NOW!
Because it's now or never my friend!
And we promise to support you throughout your journey..
Be Happy, Be positive,
Laugh,Love,Live your life!
Peace!
