Hey guys.
It’s been a while hasn't it? Needless to say, I've missed you more than you've missed me. If you missed me. If there's anybody out there. Is there anybody out there?
Sorry, that was funny to me because the italicized part is from a Pink Floyd song. It’s actually one of my favourites from the album 'The wall' better known for the song 'Another brick in the wall'.
Anyway, to prevent me from getting carried away any further, let me tell you what I'd been doing these past weeks.
I'd been (for reasons unknown to mankind) memorizing poorly written content that no longer is relevant or valid from old books with too many grammatical and statistical errors and then putting all this (or whatever my exhausted brain managed to retain) down on paper the next day in almost exactly the same words (minus the poor grammar) for a given three hours in a closely supervised environment created so that some stranger miles away can evaluate my intelligence.
Or I could just tell you I had my final exams. It’s the same thing.
Exams are the strangest thing. Especially in India. It doesn't take an intelligent person to pass an exam, it takes a smart person.
Smart person: someone who bought a copy of the guide book the teacher uses, determined which questions would most probably be asked on this question paper after a long detailed study of last year’s question paper and of course, has the class nerd on speed-dial
But if you can look past the seriousness and dread exams usually drown you in, they're actually the funniest part of the year. They strip away attitudes, complexes and facades and unite people in the general spirit of terror and mourning.
I don't really see why people let themselves get so worked up over school tests.
It doesn't matter who you are or where you go to school, I'm pretty sure exams elicit the same response everywhere. But take a minute to remind yourself that it’s just a test, not the end of the world. No score can ever truly determine how capable you are. It can only (to some extent) tell you how good you are at memorizing volumes of information.
.
.
But study okay? Seriously.
