Amidst all the political trivia, one important aspect which seems to very sub-consciously rule the minds of people today is environmental hazards.
Environment hazards are key issues and have prevailed since a very long time. Small efforts and aids have definitely generated awareness but we still have miles to go. Visits to the bio-gas plant, videos, presentations and knowledge dissemination on garbage segregation are simple endeavors by ordinary people to bring about an extraordinary change.
However, it has to be the labors of all of us as residents of this Estate and above all citizens of this country of a rich heritage working together, sincerely and consciously to preserve and nurture Mother Earth. The passion has to come organically. Only when such truthful and passionate forces and energies meet can Nature rise again above all likelihood and hindrances created by heartless and detached people.
Our magnificent ethnicity, tradition, grandeur and architecture should not be overshadowed and trounced by the filth and garbage fashioned by us. Steady pains are being put in to hoist awareness. But is it really affecting us?
One thing which really surprises me is the fact that each of us is so wary about household sanitation. We invest in endless products ranging from acids to fresheners to disinfect our houses. In spite of this why do people lack a sense of public hygiene? Is our wisdom and intellect so constrained? Throwing filth on streets may sparkle our houses but our minds display nonchalance and inattention. Can we not treat this estate, this city, this state, this country as our very own dwelling? Is it not high time that we as a conscientious citizen undertake certain responsibilities to stimulate and breathe life into Nature?
Remember, what we do today will play a pivotal role in beautifying our environs, in helping the future generations serenely view the seamless activities of Nature and in establishing a healthier tomorrow.
