This blog is on a topic that is a bit different from the normal world, but it is the future of IT, so I want all my readers to know about it.
Have you ever thought of swimming with sharks or going to space and enjoying the beautiful view of stars and planets? Or exploring the world of atoms? I know that you all will say this is not possible. But nothing is impossible in the world of information technology. A tactic called virtual reality makes all this possible. Just imagine- you yourself are a counter terrorist in Counter Strike and have the mission to kill the terrorist. It would be so much fun! This is the magic of virtual reality.

HISTORY OF VIRTUAL REALITY
The history of VR traces its roots back to the 1860s. An example of this would be Baldassare Peruzzi's piece titled sala delle prospettive.
In 1968, Ivan Sutherland, with the help of his student, created head-mounted display [HMD]. This was called as the first VR development. The HMD was so heavy for the users that it had to be balanced with the ceiling of the house.
Recently, Facebook has purchased a company that makes VR headsets and other devices for 2 billion dollars.

WHAT IS VIRTUAL REALITY?
The word itself gives you an idea of what is VR all about-
Virtual- which is not real or is artificial.
Reality- real world.
Both these words are put together to form Virtual Reality, which means an artificial setup of real world or things.
So basically, VR is the tactic which is used to create an entirely artificial sensory world that fools our brain into thinking that we are in our desired place. Exciting, isn’t it?
PLACES WHERE VR IS USED
Except for fulfilling our own wish, VR can also be used in many other necessary ways.
For example, VR can be used for new pilots (to train them) and it is very effective too, as it is better to learn through VR than to crash real planes, right? In 1966, Thomas A. Furness introduced the 1st flit simulator.
NASA also uses this tactic to train astronauts and make them aware of the difficulties and problems they might face during their real journey.
IMPORTANCE OF VR.
According to me, VR can play a major role in the development of India. How is that?
We can train our commandos with the help of this tactic and they can be given advance training to deal with explosives and new rangers can be prepared for the battle with the help of VR.
Our architects can use this tactic to design a building and can easily make the changes in VR until they are satisfied with the design and can prepare a final draft.
Automobile engineers can use VR to design a car and then give new shapes and colours to make it different from all the other inventions.
We can also educate people through this tactic by making them experience practical ways instead of theoretical texts. This will make the studies more interesting.
It is not possible for man to reach each and every place of the world, but with the help of VR we can experience all the places which seem impossible to reach. It might also help the researchers to study different things.
These were some methods which I felt are possible through VR. I would also like to know my readers’ views on this, so please type your views in the comments below.
CURSES OF VR
Everything has some boons and some curses. We discussed the boons of VR but there are also some negative impacts of this magical development. Will the attractions of the virtual world mean people stop meeting and socializing with one another in real reality? This is the biggest question facing the world with respect to this tactic.
So, to conclude my article I would like to experience VR as soon as possible in India and also its good effects. It is already being used in some developed countries like USA, and I would like to see the use of VR in India. And I’m sure that you are also waiting for it.
