A quite common topic and known to many of you out there.
ANDROID.
Many of us know how to use an Android device, sure. This software in a device acts like a magic box in our hand! I’m sure there would be many who take out their phones and start playing Subway Surf or Candy Crush (or the latest fad, Flappy Bird, yeesh) when they are bored on their Android phones. It is also a handy way to vent our anger. Agreed, this is mainly about us teenagers, but many businessmen have also sought to android now. Be it for the updates of the latest economic news or for the changes in the share market, they have one app for it all!
Android has gained mass popularity because of the free applications. The total number of free apps on the Playstores seems too good to be true. It is like the world has been shrunk into our palms.
But have you ever thought of how did Android originate or who developed it?
Android, an operating system, was primarily designed for smart phones. It was developed by Android Inc. and was financially supported by Google. In 2005, Google brought out the first publicly available smart phone to the market, commonly known as the HTC Dream.
Android is an open sourced software – all of its apps are available freely to everyone. As of July 2013, Android hosts the largest number of free applications among the other operating systems like iOS and Windows.
Like a common man who struggles to reach the top, Android too had its share of difficulties. There was a time when the sale of Blackberry and Apple iPhones boomed while the Androids were shunted to the sidelines. However, that period did not last too long as the Android accelerated its development and came back with a bang with the launch of the popular Nexus series. Presently, Android rules the Smartphone market with constant updates and is improving itself.
The names of different Android versions are pretty unique as well. It is named after delicious desserts, notably in alphabetical order. Version 1.5 was the Cupcake, which was followed by 1.6 Donut. Android has advanced so much that it reached the K’s on December 9th, 2013; version 4.4 is Kitkat.
Samsung and MicroMax are companies that have taken active interest in this operating system since the boom.
At this rate, it is not impossible to imagine that in a few years, Android will not only rule Smart phones but also PCs, televisions and cameras.
Screw the dollar, Android is becoming the next God.
I’m an Android user (like plenty currently reading this), so you may feel that this post praises Android a lot. Of course, I am open to criticisms about this device, but presently I see far too little of it to imagine that it may harm its future dominance on the cyber world.
If you want me to write on any specific topic, please don’t hesitate to tell me.
Thank you, and ‘Android’ bless!
