A mystical land in time where minds are with affluence and pursuit, where the milieu is one of satisfaction and peace, where the noise dies down when birds chirp, where the influx of rivers is the music of serenity, where the countenances are ever-positive and the ambiance is one of bliss and accomplishment- a place which is an embodiment of impeccability.
But can such a world exist?
Look around yourself and you’ll find that the answer is evident. No, it can’t. Perfection is something towards which we can only work, but never achieve. The world has to have flaws, for Pandora’s Box was opened and evil resides in the minds of all. A perfect society is something about which we can only fantasize. Every morning, getting out of bed and participating in real life becomes quite a job for us because we don’t want to leave that fantasy world of ours. We cry and crib to remain in that world for just five more minutes. But in the end, we do leave it.
Why?
We leave because we don’t want it to be just an imaginary land, but a real one. We get up with the hope that one fine day we will achieve that dream. We get up with the hope that all will be the way it should be. We get up with the hope that one fine day we will live our dreams. And that’s what matters in the end- Hope.
Tell a believer that there is no God but he’ll still stand strong on his convictions. Tell him that there is no heaven and hell, but he won’t budge. Tell him that the temples tell stories, but he’ll still go to his grave without a change in his mindset. He’ll remain a theist because he hopes, because he believes.
And that is what keeps the world moving- Hope.
“Like a ray of sunshine or the strike of a note,
Like the twinkle of a star or a whiff of a fragrant rose,
Like the spark of a fire or a brick in a palace,
Hope has built cities and hope keeps the wheel moving.”
