RATING: 4/5
Extinct? Not yet, Creators.
This is by far the Best Transformers film in the whole series. The beginning to a new trilogy, and it has given us goosebumps - a lot more than just Autobots and Decepticons. This movie has given a whole new dimension to the Transformers film universe. Obviously Decepticons had to return but Bounty Hunters and Creators. This just rose to a whole new level. Only 6 Autobots alive, human made robots and then the bounty hunters and other universes made by the creators. Everything is unknown.
For the first time they are giving us a Proper trilogy where the next movie is EAGERLY awaited for; unlike 1 movie stories in the earlier Trilogy. This had a superb storyline.
The greed of Humans. Always wanting more technology and power. The same thing that has killed us again and again. The Autobots still fighting for us not because they believe in us but because of what we can be.
The introduction of the Dinobots or the Legendary Knights was superb! That alongside the truth of Transformium and other things like Creators and no one was born. I think this story is going to become better and better as the next 2 instalments come along. The cars used as usual were glamorous and sexy to be subtle. Lamborghini Aventandor, Bugatti Veron, 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Concept, Hummer, etc. They know how to use these well.
What went south? The CASTING.
Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor. They could've selected much better actors any day. Jack Reynor especially. He was a mess in the movie. He didn't know what was happening. Pelt still was hot, had her times but lost it the other times. The good thing about her was that she portrayed a 17 year old well but it surely was over done with all the boyfriend and no daddy thing.
Kelsey Grammer was another one unaware of what was happening in the movie.
T.J. Miller for that matter though with a small role, did very well to get a few laughs.
Titus Welliver had a swag about himself in the movie though was just someone following orders dumbly.
Mark Wahlberg was a good choice to lead the act. That is one of the few casting choices that paid off well and next 2 movies, it’s not sure what exactly his role will be but he did very well in this one to make sure he's important in the next ones too.
Best of the lot was Stanley Tucci, though. He couldn't have been better, he couldn't have been funnier. He made the day for the audience. In a series war torn movie, he kept shouting like an idiot and performed fantastically well.
Bumblebee, Brains and Hound gave more comic aspect to the film as Crosshairs and Drift added the cars and samurai look to the autobots.
The 3D was used very well on occasions. Not needed at times but used excellently otherwise and good that it was a 3D movie. The sound on the other hand was the best they could've got. Skrillex alongside Imagine Dragons and none other than Hans Zimmer created some wonderful music for the movie and the songs were timed perfectly and were too good. Similarly the movie had good dialogues if not excellent ones but lacked the cast to deliver them better.
Cinematography? Perfect. Yet again Chicago became the core with Hong Kong and Beijing doing their parts in it and the cinematography just made it superb. The locations selected for the introduction of Dinobots was beautiful and couldn't have been better.
A few flaws here and there are always there but didn't matter much except that its just 4-5 years after the last film and having Sam Witwicky and the others would've been better than the Bumblebee having new family to protect.
Overall the movie is a must watch. You actually don't need to watch the first trilogy because all the essentials are mentioned in the beginning. This is one everyone except peace lovers will enjoy. Transformers fan wouldn't be disappointed like the 2nd and 3rd installment.
