He wore a mask, the colour full kind
The one that made you laugh
You'd go to him when you felt low
And he'd distract your mind
The life of the party the star of the show
The one who cracked hilarious jokes
Known as the jolly good fellow
Oh, but little did they know.
Then I saw him alone
I hoped to hear a joke
But what I saw stunned me
He looked sad and torn
He was lonely, that day I learned
A different person behind the mask
Child-like, craving for love
A young soul, burned
And when the mask fell
We started to love the real clown
Much was he loved and much to late
How I wish instead of false judgements we knew him well.
