If you haven’t noticed, the Premier League is starting tomorrow. We’re astounded that some people had to be reminded about that.
Anyway, Shashwat is putting his neck on the line and trying to predict what happens in the Premier League 2014/15. So there’s no need to streamroll him when his predictions turn out to be so obviously wrong, for Neil and Reubyn will do plenty of that.
Anyway, here goes.

Top 4 predictions
1. Manchester City
2. Chelsea
3. Arsenal
4. Liverpool
In spite of losing the Community Shield, I still strongly support City's title bid. They do have the most balanced team in the EPL as of now. Chelsea could possibly give a run for their money, with their new acquisitions looking spot on. Arsenal are well, Arsenal. I predict them to have another slump in the middle, but hopefully, they've enough points on the board by then. Lastly, Liverpool look toothless without Suarez, but their new signings, especially Lovren and Lallana.
Relegation struggles
Southampton
Burnley
Aston Villa
West Bromwich Albion
Swansea

Southampton. What a change of tide, eh? The mass exodus has meant that the Saints might find themselves in the bottom pit. Newly-promoted Burnley haven't spent at all, and their homegrown talent can't really compete against the big names in the EPL. Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion are no strangers to this battle; past three seasons are indicators of the same. Finally, Swansea find themselves in uncharted waters as they prepare to undertake an arduous journey this season, though new boy Barfetamis Gomis should help their firepower.
Best signing: Cesc Fabregas
A masterclass pulled off by the Special One. I seriously didn't see this one coming, but Fabregas is an ideal replacement for Lampard. The preseason games have made it evident that he is worth every single penny Chelsea have shelled out for him. Hopefully, he can maintain his form throughout the season.
Personal punt: Newcastle United
The most average team has been transformed by Alan Pardew this season. The signing of Remy Cabella is a real coup. Add to that medio Siam de Jong, and you have a pretty good team, I reckon. Hopefully, they'll make Europa League. But hey, since when did people start trusting Newcastle with their predictions?

This category is a bit of a newbie to a lot of people. Basically, it outlines the one player that has to prove himself this season. Last year, I had chosen Luke Shaw to do so, and boy, did he respond! This season, the big Belgian's free from the shackles at Stamford Bridge, and has been signed by Everton for a club-record fee. Along with Mirallas and Barkely, I hope that he can show Mourinho his strikeforce and power, and what he could have been as a Chelsea player. Fingers crossed.
