Reality is too tough to face, and so we dream!
‘Tell Me Your Dreams’ by Sidney Sheldon is a fast-paced murder mystery thriller- the kind that compels you to finish the book in one reading!
The book trails the lives of Ashley Patterson, Toni Prescott and Alette Peters who have just one thing in common- All three work for Global Computer Graphics. From the first page of the book, us readers are left with a nagging feeling at the back of our minds- Something is about to go wrong. And why not? Sheldon quickly takes us through 5 murders- all victims men, who have been stabbed and castrated. The catch? Three of the victims were in contact with Ashley, one with Toni and another with Alette.
The books fast pace makes it an interesting read and the end of each chapter leaves us with an overwhelming Oh crap feeling! It makes you want to pause, take in all that mind blowing information and then continue reading.
What makes this book such a good read is that while the plot is brilliant, it focuses on a stigmatized topic- one if I reveal, will give away the plot.(Read as: YOU TOTALLY HAVE TO READ THIS ONE). It touches brilliantly on the sensitive and gory realities many people face every day, one we don’t think about enough; and so, the book acts as a trigger and leaves one shocked to the core- with anger, pity, and indignity.
P.S.- Thank you Henry for recommending this book, and you should definitely add it to your collection. It was my first Sidney Sheldon book, and boy, was I impressed!
